Capgemini papers at various places in INDIA -2007
My name is Keyur. I recently appeared for Capgemini, it is a very good company. they are giving a package of 2.73lac. On 19th we had the aptitude test, then on 20th we had a GD round. After that there is technical cum HR round.
Aptitude test was of 1hr online test and it consists of 25 questions in analytical section and 25 questions in logical section.
Analytical section was tough and is very time consuming. u can refer R.S.Agrawal quantitive for this section. do that book very seriously try to give more stress on speed, distance, time, ages, simplification, permutation and combination chapters. but note that u dond waste much time in this section dont give more then 35 min to this section.
Logical is quite easy and u can score good points in this section. u can refer (R.S.Agrawal logical reasoning) for this section. do the puzzle test and data sufficiency chapters very perfectly bcoz most of the questions were from this 2 chapters. I think doing only this 2 chapters is enough.
I was not able to clear the apti and the cut off was not disclosed. may be it was around 30 right questions.
Next round was GD round many of my friends cleared it and went for tech cum HR round.

In general Kanbay (or) Capegemini is conducting it's test pattern as follows:
-----1) written test --> mathematics + analytical (very easy)
-----2) group discussion
-----3) general interveiw (technical partly & maximum of hr)
1. Written criteria:
at 11:00 we have attended 4 written
I feel that as an enginnering student it can be answered without any preparation since mathematics is our intermediate basis & analytical is our commonsense...
Mathematics---->30 ques + }---->60 min & correct--1m; wrong--->1/4 -ve marking;
analytical----->30 ques
Cutoff---->min of 10m in each section......
No "over" cutofff...
Attended : 300
passed : 66
I Did well & luckily I'm one of 66.....
2. Group discussion:
12 a batch ; totally 6 batches... our topic is "ragging in campuses" iam the initiater ; fluent in english & started smartly by replacing, the culture of ragging with interaction among sr's & jr's.....
I Lead the team efficiently through out my discussion by
---> releasing new points when deviation in team observed
like organisation of events like sports & freshers meet to have healthy interaction among them
---> made the team to run on my words & ultimately gaining trust from them to my point
---> good body language;evoking points like by frequent get-togethers with sr's jr's can acquire academic knowledge efficiently & faster than single one's...
---> So, initiate; come with good points whenever necessary; etting consensus is quite important at the end... U get selected in gd if u follow this
Result :out of 66 ;;;"44" are selected since all batches done well as a team & group... I'M one of themmmm...
3. Interview:
absolutely it is a full pledged hr --interview.........
I Was called & I entered the rooom (I was from "ece" background)
--> Good evening sir! -->Hi sravan take ur seat
--> thanq sir
--> tell me about yourself ?----> I covered my resume with the addition of my qualities
--> intersting areas --- 8085 mp & programming in 'c'....,
--> asked me 2 write a program in 8085 assembly language
--> about linked lists in "c".....
--> About flipflops in dcs...
--> How do u react if u r not selected in kanbay ?
--> Gave an extra-ordinary answer with good vocabulary....
--> After my answering to all questions he asked
Only one thing that "how can u give ur answers in such an effective way!!!!
I Think u have prepared every word before interview ????????"
answer: to be honest "yes" sir ...
--> Then his question was "so u speak all this formally because of interview but not really??"
answer: no sir "words are not coming from mind,,,evoking from my "heart".......""
--> for this he was impressed very much by saying "wow what a golden word"... after that he asked my strengths
--> habit of doing it now; versatile & flexible ; optimistic
Tooooooooooo impressed
he asked about location : mumbai, pune, hyd etc.,
I said that 'I will go with the company'
that's my interview completed....
Out of 44 ---- selected -> 30 ******** I was a Kanbaian now**********
I attended
--> accenture ; mindtree ; hp-------> out in gd'ssssssss
--> infosys --> out in interview
I left out ->wipro & satyam ( I.e., I myself dropped to these companies due to having no interest in them)
All my friends recruited but iam waiting for good company
nspite of that I have attended with abundance of "confidence" which is key to success

I'm here to share my experience with you. CAPGEMINI visited our campus on 24th April. It was declared only the previous day and we heard that aptitude test will be substituted by GD. But on the d day we had altogether four rounds.

Aptitude test was the main elimination round. Out of 116 candidates 44 was selected. The topic for our GD was "The present status of our cricket team". The GD round went very well and all 12 members were selected.
The technical was a bit tough. Be prepared with one of your favorite subject. Questions were from C, C++, DBMS, O.S.
EX:
Define pointer.
What is Null pointer?
Algo for bobble sort, binary search
Basic questions of C++. like class, polymorphism...
Normalization-3NF, BCNF...
HR ques are also asked in this round.
Finally HR round which is very easy. 18 candidates cleared technical out of which 9 were selected. The results were declared on 15th May. so all had to wait with great tention.
My only advice is be confident, have patience.. and hope for the best.

1. Written test (1st time online).
2. G.D.
3. Technical interview.
4. HR interview.

it was online test having 2 section & 50 ques. 25 Each of aptitude & l.r.
Aptitude questions were o.k. type ques, means one can easily attempt 20 out of 25
there were ques like find x if 15+2x+3y/25+9x-8y=7x-6y+85/3x+2y+76
2. Calculate unit digit of 2^51???????
3. Pick d odd one out
4. 2 Ques 4m boat & stream prob.
2-3 Ques 4m train prob means time speed & distance
etc. Were there u can do it easily
LR portion was bit tough & time consuming
There were situations given & only 1 ques. was there 4m every situation. So it was time cnsuming & confusing but I'll say u need 2 practice 4m barron then u can do it.
There were sectional cutoff for each section & a overall cutoff (upper & lower cut off)
I think there was lower cut off of 21 & upper cut off of 28. I got 27 right as I was told in my hr interview. After written test 58 out of 205 were short listed 4 gd
2nd was GD round
It was a easy one. topics were general like present status of indian cricket team, should kissing be allowed in indian culture openely (shilpa shetty case), likewise...
There were 2 pannels 4 technical interview I got the better one (one who was selecting most)

3 Ques 4m "C".
4 He asked me my favourate subject I said "data communication"
he asked some ques 4m data comm. & Gave me "hr form"

What do you know about Capgemini? Etc.
Result was declared on 15th of May finally 16 students got selected & I was one of them.
